Artifact attack surface
The enumerated set of instrument, environmental, procedural, and analytical mechanisms that could produce an observed signal without the proposed phenomenon.
Contradiction register
A maintained record of conflicting claims with severity, owner, and resolution state. Contradictions are resolved with evidence or escalated, never deleted.
Digital twin
A bounded computational model of an apparatus and its environment, published with declared scope, excluded physics, and validity limits.
Disconfirming observation
The specific measurement outcome that would falsify a hypothesis, stated before the measurement is made.
Dual-use screening
Governance review of an artifact for potential misuse exposure, conducted at a level of detail that does not itself provide uplift.
Evidence label
A descriptive tag stating what a claim rests on. Labels are not scores and are never aggregated into metrics.
Information gain
The expected reduction in uncertainty between competing hypotheses produced by a candidate experiment, used to order a constrained backlog.
Non-intrusive engagement
An operating posture in which the framework reads only client-approved materials and holds no write access to client systems unless explicitly authorized.
Provenance
The recorded chain of origin, ownership, handling, and modification for a source, dataset, or claim.
Quarantine
A register state withholding a claim or dataset from downstream use pending governance review, retained in audit history throughout.
Replication packet
A standalone package enabling an unaffiliated team to attempt a result without contacting the originating team.
Residual risk
What remains unexplained after the artifact controls that were actually performed, stated explicitly.
