God Particle Hypothesis Compression Engine
Compress a sprawling claim space into a small set of ranked, falsifiable hypotheses.
HypothesisSpeculative
Named for its compression function rather than any particle physics result, this module reduces overlapping explanations to a minimal spanning set, each with an explicit disconfirming observation.
Institute module developed within the KRYOS v6 framework ecosystem. Established scientific methods retain their conventional attribution.
When to use
When a programme carries more candidate explanations than it can test in a funding cycle.
When not to use
When the phenomenon has not yet been characterised well enough to state conditions.
Required inputs
- Research ontology
- Observed effect descriptions with conditions
- Known confounders
Optional inputs
- Prior negative results
- Competing theoretical treatments
Assumptions and constraints
- Conventional explanations are enumerated before exotic ones.
- Every retained hypothesis has at least one feasible disconfirming measurement.
Process steps
- 01Enumerate candidate explanations including mundane instrumentation causes.
- 02Merge explanations that predict identical observables.
- 03State a disconfirming observation for each survivor.
- 04Rank by discriminating power and measurement feasibility.
- 05Demote untestable candidates to the speculative register.
Human review gates
- PI approves the retained hypothesis set and its ranking rationale.
Primary output — Ranked hypothesis table with falsification conditions.
- hypothesis_id, statement, predicted_observables[]
- disconfirming_observation, feasibility, discriminating_power
- conventional_alternative_covered (bool)
- evidence_label
Failure signals
- A retained hypothesis has no disconfirming observation.
- Conventional explanations were not enumerated first.
Quarantine triggers
- Ranking presented externally as evidence of likelihood of truth.
