Scientific Evidence Intake Kernel

Normalise approved research materials into a provenance-tracked evidence register.

Document-SupportedData-Supported

The intake kernel converts heterogeneous, client-approved materials into a single register in which every statement carries a source, an acquisition context, and an evidence label. It is the precondition for every downstream module.

Institute module developed within the KRYOS v6 framework ecosystem. Established scientific methods retain their conventional attribution.

When to use

At the start of any engagement, or whenever a programme's materials are spread across notebooks, drives, and individual memory.

When not to use

When materials cannot be shared through an approved channel, or when the question is purely operational rather than evidentiary.

Required inputs

  • Approved documents (papers, reports, notebooks)
  • Source inventory with ownership and handling class
  • Instrument and acquisition metadata where data is supplied

Optional inputs

  • Prior review notes
  • Grant or programme objectives
  • Known-issue log

Assumptions and constraints

  • All supplied material is cleared for the engagement by the client.
  • Metadata absent at intake is recorded as missing rather than inferred.

Process steps

  1. 01Register each source with provenance, owner, date, and handling class.
  2. 02Extract discrete claims and separate observation from interpretation.
  3. 03Attach an initial evidence label to every claim.
  4. 04Record metadata gaps as explicit open items.
  5. 05Produce a completeness report before analysis begins.

Human review gates

  • PI confirms the claim set reflects the programme's actual position.
  • Compliance Lead confirms handling classes before any processing.

Primary output — Provenance-tracked evidence register with initial labels and gap list.

  • source_id, title, owner, date, handling_class
  • claim_id, claim_text, source_id, locator
  • observation_vs_interpretation flag
  • evidence_label, label_rationale
  • metadata_gaps[]

Failure signals

  • More than a quarter of claims lack a locatable source passage.
  • Data supplied without instrument identification or calibration reference.
  • Interpretive language embedded in records presented as measurement.

Quarantine triggers

  • Materials outside the approved handling class appear in the set.
  • Provenance cannot be established for a claim that downstream modules depend on.
